The intensive two-week summer training program at the University of North Florida includes both on-site and distance learning as well as hands-on teaching experience. The training will address:

• The Florida Educator Accomplished Practices
  
• Subject-matter content requirements
  
• Competencies associated with scientifically based reading instruction
  
• Professional competency testing requirements
  
• Professional resilience
  
• Assistance in preparing for the teacher-certification exam and transition to teaching position

Every effort has been made to assure your success as a teacher. This includes special coaching and mentoring during your first three years of teaching. During your first year, you will also attend support-and-training sessions twelve Saturdays during the year.
